About Career

Is chemistry, your favourite subject? Would like to combine the principles of engineering and chemistry in creating new things? If yes, you should consider a career in chemical engineering or petroleum engineering.

Chemical engineering is the branch of engineering that uses principles of engineering, physics and chemistry to create chemicals and associated products for commercial usability. It involves the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into the more useful desired product. Chemical engineering applications are used in biomedicine advancement, energy, electronics, food production, environment and many other products.

Petroleum engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with exploration, extraction and production of crude oil or natural gas. Petroleum engineering is a more specialized course. Students from chemical engineering can also enter into this industry.

What are the roles and responsibilities for Chemical Engineer?

  •  Chemical engineers design new or develop chemical processes for large-scale manufacturing.
